La Costiera – a great season for the Campana lemon

2015-2016 was an exceptional year for lemons, with strong demand and high prices, according to La Costiera owner Ferdinando Vinaccia.

There are great expectations for the Campana lemon, which is experiencing a positive season.

“From a sales perspective, 2015-2016 was an exceptional year for lemons, with strong demand and high prices, and we think that this trend will carry on all the way through to the end of this year, because until now the Spanish product has been absent from the market,” said La Costiera owner Ferdinando Vinaccia.

“We are moving towards better production, in terms of both volume and quality: essentially, all of the prerequisites for a good season are there,” he said.

Indeed, it’s a season in which La Costiera will focus even more on the organic line and foreign markets

“The organic lemon line is working very well alongside the conventional product, and it’s a line we rely on quite heavily.

“As far as foreign markets are concerned, the situation is different even if the competition is very strong, particularly with the costs that we have to bear in Italy. It is not always easy to offer a competitive product, but we are looking to the European markets with confidence.

“Of course, you have to find the right customers,” Vinaccia said.
