A leader in the apple-growing sector for more than 75 years, the VOG Consortium today consists of 11 cooperatives uniting 4,600 farmer families in South Tyrol – Südtirol, in the Italian Alps, one of Europe’s most suitable areas for apple cultivation. Annual production, which stands at 550,000 tonnes, is destined for over 75 international markets on 4 continents.
Expertise, authority and quality make VOG a benchmark for the sector, partly thanks to an assortment of more than 30 varieties and brands from integrated and organic production. From the Marlene® brand, the daughter of the Alps, which has won over international consumers, to brands established in several countries such as Pink Lady®, Kanzi®, envy™, yello®, SweeTango™, Joya® and Crimson Snow®, as well as the latest generation of apples such as RedPop®, Giga®, Cosmic Crisp® and many others. Where apples are at home, including organic
Annual production of over 30,000 tonnes of organic apples grown in a dedicated area of South Tyrol -Südtirol, in Italy. Three hundred member growers, a wide range of varieties and brands, 40 export countries and a presence on the market 12 months a year, always with top quality fruit. These are the organic farming numbers of VOG.
Today’s organic market has plenty of potential but is also competitive. For this reason, straightforward organic products are no longer enough for modern consumers; they want brands that guarantee flavour, quality and values that they can identify with.
The VOG range meets these needs because it offers apples suitable for different consumers and lifestyles but always of the utmost quality and from a closely controlled production chain.
VOG is present on the markets with its own brands Biosüdtirol and Marlene® Bio – Daughter of the Alps, popular with consumers all over the world. The range also includes successful brands like Pink Lady® Bio, Kanzi® Bio, Evelina Bio® and envy™ bio, along with Giga®, RedPop® and Cosmic Crisp®, apples suitable for organic farming and ideal for the second half of the season. Finally, the Consortium’s assortment also includes well-established and exclusively organic brands and varieties like Natyra®, Topaz, Pilot, GoldRush® and Bonita.
In the next few years the organic segment will be a major focus for the VOG Consortium, which is already hard at work on innovations to its assortment and its brand strategies. The first of these new developments, involving Marlene® Bio, will be presented shortly, at the upcoming Fruit Attraction show in Madrid from 3 to 5 October.
