Fenix Group to buy stake in City’super?
Hong Kong’s Fenix Group is exploring the sale of a majority stake in the owner of high-end supermarket chain City’super. Bloomberg reports that the deal could be worth US$300 million to $400 million. Founded in 1996, City Super Group operates 21 stores in Hong Kong, seven in Shanghai and seven in Taiwan. Its City’super grocery stores are located in high-profile spots in Hong Kong such as in the IFC Mall and feature CookedDeli dining courts inside the outlets.
Asia Fruit Logistica smashes records
Asia Fruit Logistica 2016 logged 22% growth in visitor numbers, with more than 11,000 industry professionals from 74 different countries attending the event in Hong Kong.
Held September 7-9 at AsiaWorld-Expo, it was the tenth anniversary of Asia’s dedicated fresh fruit and vegetable trade show.
Altogether, some 665 companies from 37 different countries exhibited their products and services at the fair, an increase of almost 100 on the 2015 edition, and with 18% more exhibition space.

US exhibitors report $6.8 million in projected sales from Asia Fruit Logistica
Record attendance at Asia Fruit Logistica
More than 9,200 trade visitors from 70 different countries attended Asia Fruit Logistica at Hong Kong’s AsiaWorld-Expo Center from September 2-4.
Organisers said a significant increase in visitors from Asia drove the record attendance at the International Trade Fair for Fruit and Vegetable Marketing in Asia. Total visitor numbers rose by 14% on last year’s event, and 66% of those visitors came from Asia, up from 58% in 2014.
