Fresh Produce India: the event for fresh ideas

Spanish fruits showcased in India

The Eurofreshproduce initiative has organised a special technical-commercial mission to India for Spanish fruit producers from 20-26 April, 2019, with visits to major cities and participation in the Fresh Produce India Congress. The move comes as the Spanish fruit and vegetable sector seeks to open new markets to avoid market collapses like the ones endured by its kaki, stone fruit and citrus sector.

“The Government of India has opened many new ways to export stone fruit, kaki, orange, apple, pear and grape. Now we need importers and distributors in this country to know our fruit,” said the head of the mission, Oliver Huesmann.

Together with the Spanish Kaki Association and in cooperation with the Spanish Trade Office in New Delhi, Eurofreshproduce will take producers to India, where they will inform them about this rapidly emerging market and its special characteristics. Producers can register for the Spanish Fruits trip to India until March 15, where they will meet importers, politicians and technicians from the sector (logistics, shipping, Post-harvest, etc.) to clarify their doubts and start exporting.

The programme of the mission is available at: https://www.eurofreshproduce.eu/events/mission-comercial-tecnico-frutas-espanolas-a-india.
