Fresh produce driving Peru’s export growth despite unrest

Peru’s political turmoil in recent months has reduced exports, with year-on year falls of 6%, 19% and 8% in October, November and December, respectively. Nevertheless, agri-food exports have continued to grow. The total shipments for 2022 were worth US$ 8.53 billion, up 7.8% from 2021, according to ADEX data. The main exported fresh products are blueberries, fresh grapes, avocados, asparagus and mangoes.
