Strengthened by the acquisition of Four04 Packaging, Coveris is one of Europe’s leading and expert packaging manufacturers for fresh fruit and vegetables. Coveris supplies approximately 90% of packaging for shipments to the UK and 10% for the rest of Europe and North America. Recent examples of its development of sustainable packaging include an rPET lidding film, for which Coveris teamed up with Berry Gardens; linerless label punnets, ideal for top and stone fruit; NXT labels, which utilise UPM Raflatac RAFNXT+, the world’s first label material verified by the Carbon Trust to help mitigate climate change through reduced carbon emissions.

“We built our entire sustainability strategy around a vision of no waste. Coveris’ mission is to provide the best eco-efficient high-performance packaging solutions, and we use our innovative science expertise to minimise food waste in the fresh produce sector,” said Eric Duncan, head of food science.
