Grupo Agroponiente continues with its plan to reinforce its support, activities and services for farmers by strengthening its work in its different logistics centres and expanding coverage in different cultivation areas.
One of its most emblematic centres, located in Campohermoso (Níjar), has seen the greatest investment, thus regaining the importance and influence it has had at other times, due to an expansion of both personnel and services.
Hence, the Níjar centre is now one of the most active in the group, offering three services for the farmer: daily auctions, a collection centre for all kinds of goods including organics, and a packhouse.
This has required a major investment in its staff in the auction and packhouse departments, in the technical and consultancy department, and in the administrative area of the company.
The resumption of daily auctions represents a great milestone, since the Agroponiente centre used to be one of the leaders in this type of auction in Campo de Níjar. Now, the auction room of this centre is open every day, from Monday to Saturday, at two in the afternoon, making it once more a reference for prices in the entire area.
As for the packhouse, this has also returned to its traditional operations, oriented above all to the packaging and logistics of products such as pears and vine tomatoes, although it has also made inroads into other types of products.
Finally, the Campohermoso centre has also reinforced its importance as a collection centre for all types of products from the Níjar countryside, which are then distributed to the different packhouse depending on whether it is a variety of tomato, cucumber, pepper, courgette, aubergine or an organic product.
So this campaign augurs very well for Grupo Agroponiente, which once again enjoys a very important position in Níjar agriculture. The number of farmers and the volume of products the company now works with are very close to its best levels.
