Territorio Avocado will be held in Colombia on November

Tue 20/09/2022 by Territorio Avocado - Translation by Richard Wilkinson

The last Super Bowl in the United States highlighted the great demand for avocados in the market. On the day of the event alone, 144,000 tons of avocados were consumed across the United States. The accelerated growth of this industry has called the attention of farmers, who have seen in the sector the opportunity to increase their income, generate more employment, expand their commercial alliances and contribute to the promotion of the local and national economy.

However, in the process of entering the industry, significant challenges have arisen that make it necessary to search for strategies, allies and new knowledge focused on improving practices and consolidating markets.

The sector has strengthened, and will have to strengthen even more, its alliances to connect the entire production chain with a view to a more dynamic industry capable of responding to strong market demand.

To achieve this, efforts should be focused on:

-Encouraging research

-Connecting the sector with global trends and markets

-Promoting technology for the sector

-Boosting investment

Meeting these goals is already becoming a reality through spaces such as the Aguacate Territory, considered the Latin American Avocado Hub.

Here, all the structures of the sector converge that make this mission of taking the avocado industry to a state of great power possible, within the framework of sustainability and care for natural resources.

So, if you are part of this industry or want to know in depth how the sector moves and the opportunities it is generating, we invite you to participate in the new edition of Territorio Avocado. This face-to-face event will take place in Plaza Mayor in the city of Medellín (Colombia) on November 23 and 24, 2022.
