Spaniards spending more on frozen vegetables
The Spanish spent €2.79bn on frozen food between January and September 2022, 7.6% more than in the same period in 2021, according to data provided to Efeagro by the consulting firm IRI on consumption in supermarkets. Spending on frozen vegetables was up by 11.6% to €268.7 million.
However, the total volume of 724,262 tons consumed of frozen foods represented only a 0.7% rise in consumption, as prices soared over the period. The volume of frozen vegetables consumed grew by 3.6%.
