“Thanks to the acquisition of Billa, we will double the total number of our stores. Besides, it will enable the delivery of goods purchased online over all the area of Moscow city,” said Vladimir Sorokin, CEO of Lenta. “Thus, we will become the second retailer in terms of the stores’ number in Moscow.”
As the result of the acquisition, Lenta is integrating 161 supermarkets, logistics infrastructure and 5,400 staff of Billa. The supermarkets will be run under Lenta brand.
The deal estimated as 215 million euro may be close within this summer.
