The sector’s leading trade fair saw an 8% fall in attendance, no doubt largely due to issues relating to the coronavirus which left most Chinese delegates unable to attend. In total, there were 72,000 visitors at the event between 5th and 7th February. The overall quality of the meetings, networking and marketing was good, with over 95% of the professional visitors interviewed by the organisers providing positive evaluations of the fair. A total of 3,300 exhibitors displayed premium fresh products from around the world, with 85% of them from outside Germany. Italy, Spain and France were at the forefront with country pavilions.
