Carrefour increases purchases of Spanish stone fruit 

Carrefour has purchased more than 5,500 tons of stone fruit of Spanish origin so far in 2023, which represents an increase of 15% compared to the same period in 2022, the company reports.

The purchases have been made from 90 farmers mainly from the Aragonese, Catalan and Murcian countryside. The retailer has acquired 1,690 tons of nectarines, 380,000 kilos of apricots, 965,200 kilos of flat peaches and more than 2 tons of red and yellow peaches.

The chain has highlighted that it offers these fruits at all its stores and also exports them through its purchasing subsidiary Socomo to countries such as France, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Romania and Dubai.
