(Valencia, Spain. February 4th, 2022).- SanLucar is launching a new tomato variety on the German market: The SanLucar Blacky tomatoes, which are already very popular among gourmets. Very juicy, these tomatoes are also characterized by their fruity, fresh, and intense aroma. Moreover, their dark coloring and unique shape, make them an absolute eye-catcher, both at the POS as well as served on a plate at home.
The new Blacky tomatoes from SanLucar grow in the coastal region of Andalusia, in southern Spain. There, climate and soil are ideal for the fruits, which are irrigated with salt water from the coastal region of Almería. The perfect combi- nation of mineral-rich and saline water together with the soil that has been specially selected for the cultivation, create the unique taste of Blacky tomatoes. This taste is characterized by a high Brix value, from which the tomatoes get their sweetness. Large calibers are loosely packed in a 3 kg box. Alternatively, the product is offered in a 400-gram cardboard tray with an additional “flowpack” that protects the tomatoes and maintains the aroma.
SanLucar Blacky tomatoes are available from late November to mid-May. SanLucar is ac- companying the product launch with promotional materials and attractive secondary dis- plays at the POS.
