Summer rains have brought relief to Argentina’s farmers, leading projections of the country’s 2020/21 lemon crop to be revised upwards by 12% to 1.15 million tons, according to USDA figures. However, orange crop forecasts have fallen to 670,000 tons, while tangerine estimates remain at 360,000 tons.  Lemon and orange exports are forecast to decrease to 180,000 tons and 70,000 tons, respectively, a decrease of 10,000 tons for each fruit, while tangerine exports are expected to remain flat at 35,000 tons. The COVID-19 pandemic has not had a major impact on the activity of the citrus industry.
