Interporto Toscano ‘Amerigo Vespucci’, the main intermodal logistics platform in Tuscany, has expanded its resources for the conservation of the freshest foodstuffs. Alongside its existing warehouse for fresh products (12 cold stores with a total area of 4,500 m2 at temperatures between 15° and -1° C), the freight hub has also equipped itself with a new low-temperature warehouse, with temperatures from -20° to -30° C, consisting of two 60 m2 chambers, each accessible through five loading compartments. Located in Livorno, five minutes from the port and the A12 motorway, and just ten minutes from Pisa airport, the Interport has a direct rail link and two junctions with the Florence-Pisa-Livorno motorway. A 43,000 m2 truck village has been built near the motorway capable of hosting up to 257 heavy vehicles and 50 motor vehicles and equipped with video surveillance and various services for hauliers.
