Rise in shipments of Ecuador banana 

Ecuador’s banana exports rose by almost 8% year-on-year in January to 35.01 million boxes. According to AEBE data, the main markets were the European Union (30.16%), Russia (24.27%) and the Middle East (13.07%), which received a combined 23.63 million boxes.

However, shipments were down to certain regions, including Eastern Europe (-23.32%), Europe EFTA (-4.94%) and Oceania (-4.62%).

The leading brands were Dole (11.97%), Global Village (6.29%) and Pretty (5.06%).
