Italian kiwifruit leaders Alegra, Apofruit and Orogel have joined forces to disrupt the green kiwifruit market with a new variety. The harmonious blend of sweetness and acidity characterises the balanced and unique taste of Dulcis™. Its juiciness, high brix and dry matter place Dulcis™ in a much-awaited new segment within the green kiwifruit market.
This new variety is the result of collaboration between academic research and the New Plant consortium funded by the three Italian co-operative groups with the specific purpose of identifying, selecting and promoting varietal innovation.
Dulcis™ can be distributed from November to April, fully preserving over time its organoleptic qualities. Sales and marketing of Dulcis™ kiwifruit are coordinated by the Dulcis Kiwifruit Company.
