With 11,000 ha, Agreen has become the largest citrus producer from Egypt and the Middle East. It expects to export about 225,000 tons this season, mainly navels and Valencia oranges. It also provides premium lemons and mandarins, from November to April. It runs three packhouses for a total capacity of 2,000 tons per day, with one in Ismalia and two in Behara. Agreen citrus is marketed under the Agreen, ElBanna, GreenEgypt and Orange brands. They comply with the BRC, ISO 22,000, ISO 9001 and ISO 45,001 certifications. “We fulfil all European sanitary requirements and market protocols,” said Agreen CEO Khaled Elbanna. The firm also supplies Germany and New Zealand with 25,000 tons of Fairtrade citrus and it has started the transition process for organic plantations for 2023.
