According to a report by Groupm, online sales will represent 19% of total retail sales worldwide in 2022, with this figure set to rise to 25% in 2027. Total world sales through the Internet are estimated at US$5.4 billion dollars in 2022, while the 2027 figure is projected to reach $9.1 billion dollars.
“It is undeniable that ecommerce is one of the most important growth vectors in the retail sector so retailers should take great care of the reputation of their online sales channels and its communication and differentiation strategy,” said Juan Luis Fuentes, commercial director of Getfluence.
Groupm also forecasts that spending on advertising in the global retail sector will reach $101 billion in 2022, which is 15% more than in 2021 .
“Advertising and branded content are playing a decisive role in the success of e-commerce sites such as Showroomprivé,” said Fuentes.
