GLOBALG.A.P, AGROCOLOR and COEXPHAL have finalised the details for the staging of the GLOBALG.A.P. Tour Spain 2023, which for the second time will take place in Almería. Under the slogan ‘Responsible Agriculture for the future’, it represents a unique opportunity to learn first-hand about the sustainable production model of solar greenhouses in Almería and delve into sustainability certification in the European market. One new point will be version 6 of the emblematic GLOBALG.A.P. of Integrated Farm Assurance (IFA), which will be mandatory for fruits and vegetables, as well as flowers and plants, from 2024, after a small period of adaptation at the beginning of next year.
On March 14 and 15, the Almería countryside and the Aguadulce Congress Palace, in Roquetas de Mar (Almería), will be the stage for producers, retailers, wholesalers, quality technicians, distribution chains, professional organisations, representatives institutions and NGOs to catch up. The first hours will be devoted to technical visits to farms and companies to see in situ the agricultural model of Almería, the capital of certification and food safety during these days.
The presentations will be attended by the main European distribution chains, such as Carrefour, ALDI, TESCO and Fresh Strategy (which works for LIDL), who will share their future strategies with their main suppliers. Currently, it has more than 200,000 certified producers in more than 135 countries, with Europe being its main supplier and proximity region.
Luis Miguel Fernández, manager of COEXPHAL, said: “It is one of the great events of the agri-food sector worldwide. Our association and AGROCOLOR have walked hand in hand with GLOBALG.A.P. since its inception, knowing that quality and excellence are our main letters of introduction in our markets.”
