Worth US$157 million, the Ukraine’s fruit exports in 2018 up to September were worth 40% more than for the same period last year. The main products were walnuts ($69 million), frozen fruits and berries ($61 million), and apples and pears ($10 million). In fact, export volumes of apples and pears climbed from 9,000 tons to 29,000 tons.

The main market for Ukraine’s fruits is the EU, which accounts for about 67% of the total. Poland was the largest market for Ukraine’s fruits in the January-September period of this year ($32.3 million), followed by France ($11.7 million), Belarus ($10.9 million), Turkey ($10.6 million), the Netherlands ($8.8 million), Germany ($7.4 million), and Italy ($7.2 million).
