TROPS named Spain’s cooperative of the year

The TROPS producer organisation specialised in the production and marketing of avocado and mango has received the Cooperative of the Year award presented by Agro-food Cooperatives of Spain. 

The awards jury, chaired by president of the Spanish Agro-Food Cooperatives, Ángel Villafranca, and made up of representatives from institutions, academia and the press, “unanimously” chose TROPS as the cooperative of the year, valuing the cooperative’s

“work with tropical fruit and their international projection, as well as their commitment to innovation, technological development and commitment to sustainable development”.

Minister Luis Planas underlined during the closing ceremony that cooperatives

“are the axis of the rural world, but not only from an economic point of view, especially from a human point of view”.
