Peru’s fruit exports to Australia were up 7% in 2020, but Peruvian vegetable exports slumped by 69%, despite a new trade agreement. These figures come at a time when Australia imported 12% more fruit and 10% more vegetables from the world, reaching US$844.5m.

Peru’s mango exports are performing particularly well in Australia, with shipments soaring 204% in volume (to 852 tons) and 130% in value (to US$2.2 million). There is clearly great potential for further growth. Peru is the third-largest supplier of mango to Australia, behind Thailand and Vietnam.
