The first season forecasts for Florida Citrus predict 70 million boxes of oranges and 9.6 million boxes of grapefruit.

That means a 14% drop in the state’s orange production and of 11.5% in grapefruit compared to last season.

Spain is in line for a 2016/17 lemon harvest of 980,000 tons, up 22% on last season, according to the latest forecast by Ailimpo, the Spanish interprofessional association for lemons and grapefruit.

It estimates the grapefruit crop will come in at 67,000 tons, down 6% on 2015/16.

In its latest, twice-yearly report Citrus: World Markets and Trade, the USDA Foreign Agricultural Service provides estimates for the 2015/16 world markets and trade in fresh oranges, orange juice, tangerines/mandarins, grapefruit and lemons and limes.
