America’s berry sector commits to recyclable packaging
The berry sector is taking an important step in the direction of sustainability with the announcement by a group of major North American fresh berry producers that they will commit to using 100% recycle-ready packaging by 2025. The group includes the California Strawberry Commission, the North American Blueberry Council, Mexico’s Asociación National de Exportadores de Berries, the National Berry Crops Initiative, and South American exporters.
German asparagus and strawberry expos attract record attendance
ExpoSE and ExpoDirekt attracted 6,700 trade visitors from across Europe’s asparagus and strawberry sectors on 20th and 21st November. The dual event, which was held in the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre, saw a 6% increase in attendees, reports spargel-erdbeerprofi.de. The events featured 445 exhibitors from 12 nations who presented their innovations for asparagus and berry cultivation, as well as for agricultural direct marketing.
1st Morocco Berry Conference
The first Morocco Berry Conference (MBC) will be held in Agadir on 5th December 2019. This will be the first time that Agriconferences focuses on the berry sector. Berry professionals from inside and outside Morocco will come together to network and discuss technical and commercial issues. The Morocco Berry Conference is the key event of the industry in the MENA region with more than 450 expected participants. The conference will focus on production techniques and market trends.
Eurofresh Distribution & Fruit Logistica provide keys to success at fifth Berry Congress
Eurofresh Distribution & Fruit Logistica are sponsoring the 5th edition of the International Berry Congress in Huelva with "the largest capacity so far", according to its organisers. More than 1,200 professionals from some 50 companies have gathered in the capital of Huelva to learn about the state of the berry sector both nationally and internationally.
