New date announcement for WOP DUBAI 2021

New date announcement for WOP DUBAI 2021

3 February 2021, Dubai (UAE) – The Middle East’s Festival for Fruits and Vegetables, WOP DUBAI 2021, will take place from the 22nd to the 24th November 2021 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

If 2020 is considered publically as a difficult year for the fresh produce sector, and while the pandemic continues, there are strong signs that 2021 will be the year of recovery and for most businesses going back to normal. According to WOP DUBAI: “In the UAE already 35% of the population have received an Anti-Covid Vaccine within a bit more then a month since the vaccination campaign started. Active cases and new cases are going down significantly now. The government is way ahead of its goal to have half of the countries population vaccinated by the end of the first quarter 2021.”

“A recent market survey of more than 4,000 professionals from 130 countries explored the impact of Covid-19 on the global exhibitions industry, delving into key criteria such as travel, budgets and the importance of trade fairs in a post-pandemic world. No wonder, the study resulted that Dubai perceived as safest destination to host global exhibitions and conferences.”

“With WOP DUBAI dates in November 2021 we can ensure the maximum exposure for the fruit industry in the Middle East and we are confident that it will be the perfect timing for the first gathering of fruit & vegetable trade professionals after more than one and a half year. WOP DUBAI arrives as the UAE continues to inject confidence back into its economy, while shows and exhibitions started taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre already since July 2020.”

Meanwhile, WOP DUBAI will continue pursuing its mission to connect and empower fresh industry players across the globe with the whole Gulf region. The focus is on trade and marketing of fresh produce such as fruit and vegetables and associated logistics.

IPM DUBAI and WOP DUBAI from November 12 to 14, 2019

Hall Allocation Directly on the “Main Concourse” of the Dubai World Trade Centre

Rescheduling: IPM DUBAI and WOP DUBAI will take place in a prominent location in the Dubai World Trade Centre from November 12 to 14, 2019. Both trade fairs will be positioned in attractive halls on the main axis of the site. The first local players in the sector have already promised to participate in the fairs because of the improved time-related and spatial exhibition conditions. German companies will have the possibility of presenting themselves on a promoted joint booth.

The month of November is traditionally one of the most enterprising periods for trade and tourism in the Middle East at the same time. With the rescheduling, IPM DUBAI and WOP DUBAI are reacting to the wishes of the sector. Dates during mid-November for the staging of both events have been targeted for quite a long time already. However, because the capacities of the event site were always utilised to the full in this period, it has not been possible to fulfil this wish in the last few years.

The amended dates will also be accompanied by a new hall allocation in the Dubai World Trade Centre: IPM DUBAI and WOP DUBAI will use exhibition areas directly on the main connecting axis, i.e. in the immediate vicinity of the main entrance to the site.

Particularly for local traders, this will now result in new perspectives to take part in the fair not only as exhibitors but also as visitors. Moreover, the first local major players in the sector have already reacted positively to the announcement and have promised their participation.

For German exhibitors, there will once more be the possibility of taking part in the German joint booth. On the “German Pavilion” promoted by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, German companies will present their products and services under the German umbrella brand called “Made in Germany”.

IPM DUBAI is the only fair within the Gulf region to unite the exhibition areas called Plants, Technology, Floristry, Garden Features, Logistics, Plant Maintenance as well as Garden and Landscaping and thus forms the most significant platform for the green sector in the Near and Middle East. For visitors, WOP DUBAI (World of Perishables) taking place at the same time results in further synergetic effects. Here, attention focuses on the trading and marketing of fresh products such as fruit and vegetables as well as on their logistics.

Aircoolbox unveiled at WOP DUBAI expo

British company, AIRCOOLBOX, introduced their durable, re-usable, insulated airfreight container to the Middle East market at WOP DUBAI.

New technologies were also launched and introduced to the UAE market and the rest of the Middle East at WOP DUBAI expo last month. British company, AIRCOOLBOX, introduced their durable, re-usable, insulated airfreight container to the Middle East market at WOP DUBAI. Keith Packer, managing director of AIRCOOLBOX said “We’re proud to attend WOP DUBAI for the first time this year to demonstrate AIRCOOLBOX in a region where temperatures can be very high, for perishable goods this can be an issue. In the past, a producer would export asparagus from Thailand to the UK by paying for expensive point to point freight. Now, with AIRCOOLBOX, they can choose an airline such as Emirates and ship via Dubai, without worrying about spoilage.” Packer went on to say “We need to change the way people think about perishables.”

Aircoolbox is a unique durable, insulated airfreight container which can flat-pack to one third of its size to enable easy positioning and re-use again and again. Aircoolbox keeps perishable products at controlled temperatures during transit and optimises the supply chain through a single solution. Deliveries are covered from source to destination increasing revenue per shipment by eliminating bulky 1 trip packaging. 11 specially-designed insulated panels easily lock together using simple levers.

The region’s two most important events in the plant and fresh produce industries are returning to Dubai this November 13-15 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Cooperating with Dubai Municipality, the 8th edition of the annual International Perishables Expo Middle East (WOP Dubai) promises to be a great success, with 235 exhibitors expected from 34 countries attending, representing growth of 15% compared to last year.

The exhibition will coincide with the 11th annual edition of the International Plants Expo Middle East (IPM Dubai).

This year, 7,000 attendees and decision makers are expected to visit from 78 countries.

An extra hall was added to accommodate the increased demand, bringing the total footprint to 9,720m2. This represents a 30% increase from last year and reflects the significance of the event in this booming industry and secures Dubai’s position in the global marketplace.

India and Greece have, for the first time, joined the long list of countries choosing to promote themselves at the event with a country pavilion. Other countries include Australia, Belgium, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Italy, Kenya, Portugal, Turkey and Spain.

The largest country pavilion for the third year running will be Morocco, while China will host the second biggest pavilion this year.

Despite its rapid growth and success, the event has maintained its reputation as a place to network with like-minded industry professionals, customers and traders

“We are very proud that WOP and IPM Dubai have experienced such tremendous growth and established themselves as the most important industry exhibitions in the Middle East. We have worked closely with Dubai Municipality Fruit & Vegetables Department for eight consecutive years, which has contributed greatly to our success. WOP DUBAI 2015 set new records in exhibitor and visitor numbers

WOP DUBAI 2016 will take place November 13–15 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The 2015 edition of WOP DUBAI – the only dedicated exhibition for fresh fruits & vegetables trade in the Middle East – turned out to be the region’s most important annual platform for fresh industry members to meet and do business.

For the seventh consecutive year, the show WOP DUBAI was under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and Chairman of Dubai Municipality.

The show, held October 5-7 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, was inaugurated by H.E. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director- General of the Dubai Municipality and organised in cooperation with Dubai Municipality.

The overall outcome of the show this year once again reflected the huge growth in the trade of perishables in the Middle East, organisers said in a press release. They said it proved the position of WOP DUBAI as the only trade fair for fresh produce in the region as well as strengthen the emirate of Dubai as an important destination and a worldwide trading centre for fruits and vegetables.

WOP DUBAI achieved strong growth in 2015: with 205 exhibitors from 30 different countries – an increase of 20% – and 25% more exhibition space rented out. In terms of visitors, 11% more people attended, taking total visitor numbers to 4,923. They came from 76 countries.

The exhibitor companies were very satisfied with the visitor response, and many registered as exhibitors for next year even before the trade fair ended. Some also signed up for much larger exhibitor spaces.

International interest in WOP DUBAI increased once again in 2015. There were official country pavilions representing 14 countries: Egypt, Australia, Belgium, China, France, Italy, Kenya, Moldova, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Rwanda, Mauritius and Spain.

This year the event will once again be held at the Dubai World Trade Centre – the most prestigious exhibition center in the Middle East – with a bigger space booked in order to provide exhibitors with more services and space options in halls 5, 6 & 7.

Date: 13 – 15 November
