Greentech Amsterdam in blend format 28-30 September 2021

Greentech Amsterdam in blend format 28-30 September 2021

GreenTech Live & Online will be organised as an alternative event in blended format on 28 – 30 September instead of 15 – 17 June. RAI Amsterdam, as organiser, expects that the event will be more feasible after the summer period due to the openness to travel and the vaccination programs. The aim is to organise a high-quality blended event which makes it possible to connect with the global horticulture community both physical and digital.

The horticulture industry has an important role in the global health situation and in building a healthier society following the epidemic. Developments in the industry are still following at a rapid pace. The demand for doing business and sharing knowledge is greater than ever. And also the willingness to finally meet again physically. Nevertheless, the timing of June needed to be re-examined because of the uncertain time frame. At the end of September more opportunities to re-engage the horticulture community are expected.

Blended
Consulting the industry, the lessons learned in the last year and the expectation that the international travel will not be fully up to speed, resulted in the decision to choose for a blended event: GreenTech Live & Online. Live means physically with as many visitors and exhibitor stands as possible and online means with a digital platform to connect and share knowledge for those who are not able to travel to Amsterdam.

Mariska Dreschler, Director Horticulture – GreenTech:
“We recognize that no digital connection will replace the physical interaction, but having said that, virtual elements are here to stay. The horticulture market is thriving, knowledge sharing and innovations are key to stay on top of the wave. To provide these insights we successfully organised a variety of online events during the pandemic period for our community. Which resulted in reaching new audiences, increasing engagement and thus expanding our global community. Therefore we are very committed to organise an alternative event this year, instead of our full physical show. We are looking forward to the spirit and energy of a blended event with visitors, exhibitors and their solutions this September.”

International character
GreenTech Amsterdam is the global leading horticulture technology show. 50% of the exhibitors are from countries other than the Netherlands. The visitors in 2019 originated from 114 countries. In October 2020 GreenTech organised Live & Online to keep in touch virtually with the international horticulture industry, over 6,300 professionals signed up for this event.

GreenTech Amsterdam
GreenTech Live & Online will be held from Tuesday 28 – Thursday 30 September 2021. GreenTech Amsterdam, in full physical format, from Tuesday 14 – 16 June 2022. The exhibition is a global meeting place for all horticultural technology professionals with the focus on the early stages of the horticultural chain and the current issues growers face.
GreenTech is supported by AVAG, the industry association for the greenhouse technology sector in the Netherlands.

Markets to participate in Macfrut Digital

Macfrut 2020: Central Asia and Africa in the spotlight

                                                                                                                                                                                                  Press Release

Cesena (30 July 2020) – Markets are discovering the potential that Macfrut Digital (8-10 September 2020) has to offer. In addition to giving space to Italmercati and Fedagromercati, the first international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector, to be held on a digital platform (Natlive), will be attended by many professionals interested in seizing the advantages offered by this digital event which, at a low cost, allows companies to expand their reach and explore new business opportunities.

These also include medium-sized companies such as the Mercato Ortofrutticolo di Cesena, along with another leading company in the sector, Ortomercato.

‘We instantly jumped at the chance to participate,’ explains Alessandro Giunchi, Sole Administrator of the Mercato di Cesena. ‘This is a major opportunity for us to meet new professionals, not only wholesalers but also logistics companies and service providers who intend to use the market as a hub for distributing fruits and vegetables. The market system has not always kept pace with innovation; Macfrut Digital provides a boost in this direction and is therefore a challenge for all of us. Markets are of crucial importance for producers, wholesalers, traders and retailers, since it is where they can offer their quality products.’

The Mercato Ortofrutticolo di Cesena consists of a 28,000-square-metre indoor facility which, every year, handles 80,000 tonnes of fruits and vegetables, with more than 50,000 accesses. Giunchi also adds: ‘We are a dynamic, medium-sized market offering high-quality products that are guaranteed and checked throughout the supply chain.’

Ortomercato, which will also participate in Macfrut Digital, is one of the most important markets in the Cesena area. This second-generation company markets more than 7,000 tonnes of goods, handles more than 9,300 supplies for approximately 20,000 lots marketed, and has a 5,000-square-metre refrigerated area outside the market. ‘We set ourselves apart from large-scale retailers as we constantly offer excellent products,’ explains Massimo Castrogiovanni. ‘We supply locally-sourced goods from the top production areas in Italy and in the Mediterranean region on a daily basis and continuously. Macfrut Digital will give us the opportunity to find excellent partners and suppliers that we can add to our list of clients and collaborations.’
