Daifressh reveals its organic citrus program

One of Daifressh success factors is being able to deliver anywhere in Central and Eastern Europe within 72 hours, ensuring quality trough comprehensive traceability.

Valencian company Daifressh had yet another good performance in the 2015-2016 export campaign, with more than 100 million kg of citrus fruits, vegetables and stone fruits exported. One of Daifressh success factors is being able to deliver anywhere in Central and Eastern Europe within 72 hours, ensuring quality trough comprehensive traceability.

Over the last citrus exports season, Daifressh exported 50,500 tons. According to Rafael Martinez, citrus commercial agent, 57,000 tons of exports are expected for the 2016-17 campaign. He also confirmed that there is a growing demand for organic citrus fruit, which Daifressh offers across its entire range, from grapefruit or lemon to oranges or mandarins, all of which are grown respecting nature’s cycles and avoiding chemicals and pesticides.

Daifressh will continue to explore new markets in North Europe for its citrus exports. Overseas destinations are also attractive, and Daifressh is exploring new routes to reach South America and establishing first contacts with importers in the Middle East, China and the Arab Countries.

Since 1994, Daifressh’s objective has been to export fresh “just in time” fruits and vegetables to the main markets in Central and Eastern Europe. With a presence in more than 10 countries including Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Estonia and Latvia, Daifressh is one of the leading Spanish exports groups, with over 100,000 tons.

A leading company in production, quality control, logistics and distribution, it uses a highly sophisticated production system called Daicycle. The best fruit varieties are selected and grown only in the most suitable areas, and are then harvested at the right time, when the fruit is in perfect condition. Production is monitored along the whole process from the field up the final packaging. The utmost quality is guaranteed through complete traceability and ensuring the cold chain throughout the process.

For the 2016-2017 season, Daifressh is developing a new program for exotic fruit, such as papaya, banana from the Canary Islands, pomegranate, mango, custard apple, avocado, kiwi, persimmon, physalis and passion fruit.
