Spanish nurseries and breeders vow to collaborate more closely

The Association of Horticultural Seed and Nursery Plant Producers of Andalusia and the National Association of Plant Breeders gathered at Almeria’s Science and Technology Park to discuss the future challenges of horticulture and outline collaborations for the sector. Participants were encouraged to form closer ties between seed-producing industries and nurseries to ensure the progress and sustainability of the fruit and vegetable industry in the future, particularly in the field of research. President of ANOVE, Julián Arnedo, said, “We have to provide joint solutions to obtain seeds and plants of the highest quality, free of pests, and germinated in high-tech centres.

In the round table, Miguel Ángel Zorrilla (president of ASEHOR), Julián Arnedo and Pedro Mario Fernández (ASEHOR advisor) discussed regulatory issues and how to improve the activity of seed companies and nurseries.
