2020 CPMA Convention and Trade Show Cancelled
March 20, 2020 (Ottawa, ON) – In light of the rapid escalation of safety precautions to decrease the transmission of COVID-19, and recommendations of municipal, provincial and federal governments regarding large gatherings, the CPMA Board of Directors and 2020 CPMA Convention and Trade Show Organizing Committee have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 CPMA Convention and Trade Show.
Coronavirus outbreak causes event delays and cancellations
Several major events in the fresh produce calendar have either been postponed or cancelled due to concerns about the spreading Coronavirus. Unsurprisingly, events scheduled to take place in Italy have been greatly affected. The country’s largest fresh produce fair, Macfrut, has been moved back from May until 8-10 September, while the Verona exhibition Sol & Agrifood has been postponed from 19-22 April to 14-17 June, and Cibus in Parma from 11-14 May to 1-4 September.
Macfrut is postponed to 8-10 September 2020
Cesena, 9 March 2020 – Due to the progressive spread of the Covid-19 virus, the board of directors of Cesena Fiera decided to move Macfrut – the international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector – to 8-10 September 2020 in Rimini, instead of holding it on 5-7 May.

FruitVegetables Europe general assembly & sessions, June 4 & 5th Bordeaux
The European F&V association wisely postponed their General Assembly and will be “Looking forward to the future: Europe, promotion, Trade & Green Deal” will be the morning debate after the general assembly and the presentation of the amazing first year (2019) achievement of the “Cultivating the Taste of Europe” consumer campaign leaded by the association. The afternoon sessions with start with a presentation of CUTE’s first Eurobarometer aimed to measure “European’s attitudes towards fruit and vegetables from Europe”.
GULFOOD, 25th anniversary of the world largest food business event
The world largest food trade show took again place last February 16th to 20th celebrating its 25th anniversary. It received more than 98,695 trade visitors from 182 countries, as well as a digital reach of more than 57 million links. More than 5,000 exhibitors represented 1 million square feet, 60% of them being International companies (40% from the UAE). 35% of the trade visitors were importers and wholesales, 15% agents, 33% food service & hospitality establishments, 12% retail buyers from supermarkets, 3% from government and public institutions.
BIOFACH and VIVANESS 2020: Global sector gathering wows more than 47,000 trade visitors
BIOFACH, the World’s Leading Trade Fair for Organic Food, and VIVANESS, the International Trade Fair for Natural and Organic Personal Care, achieved record highs for exhibitor numbers, exhibition space and international attendance at this year’s events. A total of 3,792 exhibitors from 110 countries showcased their products for trade visitors in a display area of 57,609 m² (net area, excluding special shows).
