Spaniards spent 14.9% more on food in February

Once again, in the month of February, it was in food purchases that Spaniards spent the most, with year-on-year growth in sales value of 14.9%, and a decrease in sales in volume of 1%. Prices rose by an average of 16.5% compared to February 2022, according to the latest data published by NIQ. Total sales of consumer goods in Spain in rose by 12.4% during the month of February 2023, compared to a year earlier, driven by a 15.4% increase in average price and a 2.6% drop in sales volume. Sales volume was down by 4.4% y-o-y in January this year.
