Spain’s strawberry exports grew by 10% in 2021

Spain’s berry exports are on the rise. In 2021, they totalled 471,033 tons for a value of €1.69 billion, with strawberries the main product (316,572 tons, 10% more than in 2020), worth €721 million (+23%). Next comes blueberries, with 89,644 tons (+36%), worth €509 million (+35%); raspberries, with 63,836 tons (+8%) and €458 million (+7%). 

Huelva represents 74% of the volume of berries exported by Spain and 71% of the value, with 350,677 tons in 2021 worth €1.21 billion. Strawberry remains Huelva’s best-selling berry abroad, with 246,896 tons worth €538 million, followed by blueberries (52,797 tons worth €305 million) and raspberries (50,896 tons worth €367 million), according to data from the Department of Customs and Special Taxes processed by FEPEX.
