The 2021/22 South African table grape crop was higher than last season’s, driving increased exports. A total of 77.7 million (4.5kg) cartons were passed for export, around 4% higher than last campaign, thanks to good weather conditions and new cultivars coming into full production, according to a South African Table Grape Industry (SATI) report.

There were higher volumes shipped to all of the top-5 export markets (EU, UK, Canada, Middle East and South East Asia), while there was a 29% drop in exports to the Russian Federation, due to the war with Ukraine.
