Wed 13/10/2021 by Richard Wilkinson

Spain’s citrus crop is expected to total 6,705 million tons for the 2021/2022 season, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food of Spain, representing a 4.8% drop compared to the previous season, and is also 2.1% less than the 5-year average. The greatest drop will occur in small citrus fruits (2.1 million tons), while lemons should see the greatest rise to just over 1 million tons. Significant growth is also forecast for grapefruit (84,000 tons), while the orange crop will increase by only 0.4% to just over 3.5 million tons
