Every year, demand for blueberries is constantly increasing, as year-round production familiarises consumers with a product that has become a regular part of shopping baskets, despite the rising prices. Onubafruit’s commitment to bringing out new varieties is already becoming apparent on the shelves of European supermarkets. The cooperative has carefully crafted a portfolio of its own varieties to meet European consumers’ demands. Most are early varieties with good size, firmness and flavour. Rather than invest in expensive advertising campaigns, Onubafruit works instead to develop varieties that can guarantee buyer satisfaction and the trust of its clients.
