Huelva’s raspberry prices up 30%

Europe’s main raspberry region, Huelva, which accounts for over a quarter of European production, has seen prices rise by almost 30% in the past year.

The price in the last week of April was almost €1.50 more than a year ago (€6.49/kg vs €5.04/kg), which is 28.7% higher. This trend has been maintained since the beginning of the year, with raspberry prices higher than they have been for three years, according to the latest report of the Observatory of Prices and Markets of the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Sustainable Development of the Junta de Andalucía.

This raspberry campaign, like the strawberry campaign, is somewhat irregular due to the rains at the end of winter and beginning of spring, as well as the moderate temperatures at the end of winter.
