Higher apple and pear stocks in Europe and US

The Northern Hemisphere’s apple supply is significantly higher than at the same point of 2021. Last week, WAPA (World Apple and Pear Association) released its apple and pear stock figures for 1 May 2022. The figures show that in Europe, apple stocks increased by 17.7% compared to 2021, to reach 1.54 million tons, while pear stocks increased by 2.4% to 155,401 tons. In the US, apple stocks as of 1 May 2022 stood at 785,260 tons, which is 8.5% higher than at the same point of the 2021 season. Pear stocks in the US reached 45,758 tons (50.5% above the 2021 level).
