Costa Rica signs decree to modernise registration of agrochemicals

The President of the Republic, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, and the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Víctor Julio Carvajal Porras, have signed a regulation to modernise the country’s use of chemicals in farming. The regulation includes four ways to register the level of active ingredients (IAGT) in line with the OECD’s System of Mutual Acceptance of Data. The new regulations make it possible for new molecules to be authorised and for the farmer to have new tools to ensure competitive production.
