The award is recognition of the efforts made by Coopaman to produce quality food, as well as its contribution to the sustainable development of the food sector. At the end of 2019, Coopaman opened new facilities in Alberca de Záncara (Cuenca) for the preparation of all formats of products and for processing its members’ garlic. At its 3,500 m2 facilities, Coopaman packages its fresh, peeled and black garlic products in bulk, flowpack and doypack packaging. Coopaman also produces garlic paste and has Europe’s only essential garlic oil facility. As a result of the success of these facilities, they are currently being extended by 4,400 m2, with the new area set to be in operation before the new campaign starts in June.
