The award, promoted by the Embassy of Spain in Brazil together with the Brazilian representations of IICA, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and ONU Women, aims to recognize the effort and work of the women and their contribution to innovative initiatives in favor of the development of sustainable agriculture.
On April 28, the award ceremony took place. Among the 482 entries received from groups of women who work for the economic autonomy of producers, the jury decided to highlight and award the first prize to the collective “Mulheres em Ação de Jequiá da Praia”, in Alagoas, which has more than 50 women involved in improving the quality of life of workers in riverside communities, thus becoming a source of income and a benchmark in their municipality.
Through its participation in this project, CMR GROUP wishes to contribute to making visible the achievements of rural women and the solutions undertaken by them, thus encouraging the reduction of gender gaps and the employment rate of the rural female collective.
