Chile enjoys record cherry exports to China

At the Global Cherry Summit 2023, the Chilean cherry industry celebrated a record export season, when over 415,000 tons were shipped, up 17% year-on-year. Chilean cherries accounted for 97% of total Chinese cherry imports. However, these cherries could soon be finding their way to Chinese households by different routes in future, as home delivery services grow across the country, meaning all retailers will have to develop their own delivery service platforms to survive in the market. There has also been a rise of multi-platforms for retailers including partner stores, neighbourhood stores, convenience stores, discounters, and O2O stores.
