This milestone marks the beginning of a new stage, in which both companies, oriented towards excellence and sustainability, will seek to exchange best practices for the benefit of their customers, employees and suppliers, and will contribute to the professionalisation of the agri-food sector.
Since its foundation, the Vercher family has guided Bollo International Fruits (Benifairó de la Valldigna, Valencia) to consolidate a century-old company that champions a great brand, synonymous with quality citrus fruit (oranges, clementines, lemons and grapefruit), melons and watermelons, among other fruits. Bollo’s project is nourished by transparency, seriousness, perseverance and innovation, as values that support its great achievements in attracting and maintaining consumer trust.
José Vercher, CEO of Bollo, said: “We have found in NF the ideal partner to continue developing the project that our family started 100 years ago. We are very happy to be able to integrate our businesses and look to the future as it represents a great opportunity for our customers, employees, partners and suppliers.”
Together, both companies will add more than 7,000 hectares of citrus, melon and watermelon production distributed among Spain, Brazil and Senegal, where it is managed by a team specialised in agricultural engineering and R+D+i-. Together with farmers, closely linked to the companies, they will supply selected fruit to plants in Benifairó and Alberic. The 180,000 tons of fruit marketed annually by Bollo will be added to the production managed by NF to reach an annual marketed volume of around 480,000 tons, which will be shipped worldwide. The complementarity of the teams and the values of both companies support a project with a strong commitment to sustainability.
NF is joining a great brand and investing in the future of its employees, while reinforcing its year-round full citrus basket, in line with its vision to improve the quality of society with healthy fruits and by protecting the Earth.
Antonio Alarcón, CEO of The Natural Fruit Company, said: “We are very satisfied with the agreement reached with the Vercher family, thanks to which we have incorporated this hundred-year-old and innovative company into our project. At NF, we believe in the Bollo brand as the quality benchmark that it is today. Companies are the people that make them up and we will be able to count on the good work of the Bollo team to continue on our path of success. In the last year, the group has grown by integrating complementary companies. Our intention is to become a partner of our clients, to be their reference in quality and to accompany them with the best practices in sustainability.”
