Consumption of fertilisers in EU fell 2% in 2021
The consumption of mineral fertilisers (nitrogen and phosphorus) in agricultural production in the EU dropped by 2.2% year-on-year to 10.9 million tons in 2021, which was 6.4% less than the relative peak in 2017, according to EUROSTAT data.
