China’s fruit imports have been rising rapidly over recent years, as more and more fruits gain access to the market and import procedures are simplified. In 2018, imports totaled 4.86 million tons, with a value of US$6.95bn, up by 26% and 36% year-on-year, respectively, according to China Customs data.
