The transaction has been completed after the acquisition of AKIRA SEEDS S.L. by United Genetics Holding LLC, part of the important Japanese agro-food group KAGOME. From now on, the start-up Spanish subsidiary UNIGEN SEEDS SPAIN S.L will enclose the whole structure of AKIRA SEEDS S.L.

The Japanese-named Spanish company Akira Seeds has been finally integrated into a Japanese group just ten years after it was founded.

Akira Seeds will remain as an alternative trademark of the new subsidiary.

Throughout these ten years, Akira Seeds has become a prestigious name in the extremely professional vegetable seed market in the Iberian Peninsula, in segments such as rootstock for watermelon and eggplant, sweet and hot special pepper, onion, tomato, Baby Leaf, etc.

With the introduction of new vegetable materials coming from the renewed research of the acquiring company, we will consolidate our market opportunities with alternative products, mainly in tomato and pepper protected crops.

All staff of Akira Seeds are extremely pleased to become a new member of this important group and thus to reinforce UNIGEN SEEDS presence in our markets through new incorporations.

We will have the opportunity to release the new image of our company at Infoagro Fair in Almeria next 10-11-12 May 2017.
